Real Lives Are Waiting On The Other Side Of Our Obedience

I’m going to go over some notes and share what God has given me this week in scripture. Oh and the title of this blog is a cool quote I found =)

1 Peter 1:7(NCV)

7 These troubles come to prove that your faith is pure. This purity of faith is worth more than gold, which can be proved to be pure by fire but will ruin. But the purity of your faith will bring you praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is shown to you.

Our faith is tested be the temptations and troubles we go thru. Our faith is worth more than gold but our faith is tested by fire(temptations and attacks of the devil) and if we are in that heat to long we will start to ruin. Which means that if we allow ourselves to stay in that temptations instead of fighting it we are going to give in and our lives are going to be different.

1 Peter 2:19-21(NCV)

19 A person might have to suffer even when it is unfair, but if he thinks of God and can stand the pain, God is pleased. 20 If you are beaten for doing wrong, there is no reason to praise you for being patient in your punishment. But if you suffer for doing good, and you are patient, then God is pleased.21 This is what you were called to do, because Christ suffered for you and gave you an example to follow. So you should do as he did.

There will be times when we have to go thru stuff. We may be falsely accused of something but if we stand for what we believe in that God has given us we will be rewarded in the long run cause we suffered for doing God’s work. But if you suffer for doing wrong then you don’t get what you should.

1 Peter 3:13-14(NCV)

13 If you are trying hard to do good, no one can really hurt you. 14 But even if you suffer for doing right, you are blessed.
“Don’t be afraid of what they fear;
do not dread those things.” — Isaiah 8:12–13

If we doing what God says no one can really hurt us. They may try or may make us feel bad but they cant truly hurt us in anyway.

1 Peter 4:7-11(NCV)

7 The time is near when all things will end. So think clearly and control yourselves so you will be able to pray. 8 Most importantly, love each other deeply, because love will cause people to forgive each other for many sins. 9 Open your homes to each other, without complaining.10 Each of you has received a gift to use to serve others. Be good servants of God’s various gifts of grace.11 Anyone who speaks should speak words from God. Anyone who serves should serve with the strength God gives so that in everything God will be praised through Jesus Christ. Power and glory belong to him forever and ever. Amen.

Using God’s gifts wisely in these times we live in.

1 Peter 4:12-16(NCV)

12 My friends, do not be surprised at the terrible trouble which now comes to test you. Do not think that something strange is happening to you.13 But be happy that you are sharing in Christ’s sufferings so that you will be happy and full of joy when Christ comes again in glory.14 When people insult you because you follow Christ, you are blessed, because the glorious Spirit, the Spirit of God, is with you.15 Do not suffer for murder, theft, or any other crime, nor because you trouble other people.16 But if you suffer because you are a Christian, do not be ashamed. Praise God because you wear that name.

We should be proud for suffering as a Christian. We should be proud for being labeled a Christian instead of always trying to hide it.

1 Peter 5:3(NCV)

3 Do not be like a ruler over people you are responsible for, but be good examples to them.

If we are going to lead people we cant set out to lead them we need to set out to help them to be an example of someone they can follow. A Leader isn’t someone who wants to be a leader a leader is someone who is a role model that people look to, follow, and listen.

Micah 7:16-17(NCV)

16 When the nations see those miracles,
they will no longer brag about their power.
They will put their hands over their mouths,
refusing to listen.
17 They will crawl in the dust like a snake,
like insects crawling on the ground.
They will come trembling from their holes to the Lord our God
and will turn in fear before you.

If we want to change this nation or see people come to Christ. The only way they are going to believe its real or that there is a God is by the power of God. Thru miracles and prophetic and stuff. The power of God is the way to share him. When we seek to minister to someone to get them saved we get involved and its us doing it not God, But if we set out to do what God wants and to show his love and power then God does all the work all we are doing is being obedient to what he wants us to do and thats all that he asks us to do is be obedient. And this is where my quote comes in ” Real lives are waiting on the other side of our obedience.”

Habakkuk 2:4(NCV)

4 The evil nation is very proud of itself;
it is not living as it should.
But those who are right with God will live by faith.

Since we are Christians and we are right with God we need to live by faith. If we have faith that something will happen it will happen if we have faith that is what God told us. To often we do something and then it doesn’t happen right then so we don’t think it ever will. God does move but just cause something doesn’t happen right then doesn’t mean it wont.

Habakkuk 2:14(NCV)

14 Then, just as water covers the sea,
people everywhere will know the Lord’s glory.

They will know cause we will have God’s glory. But to get God’s glory we need to not be ashamed and we need to be willing to suffer as Christ did. To have the glory of God we need to be Christ like. You can’t see God but he’s there but we can see God cause God gave all his glory to Christ and if we follow Christ and are willing to go out and even suffer like Christ did we will have God on our side and we will be able to do what he wants us to do.

Well that’s what I got for right now I don’t want to write to much that you don’t want to read =)

Research Day

Well for today’s post I wanted to not post =)

Basically I have written alot on here I’ve posted 43 posts since I started in the begging of August. So there’s alot on here. I want to give you guys a day instead of me posting something new I want to let you ask questions and read the stuff I have already posted. Pass around anything that God has touched you with to your friends. I want Jesus Encounter to be a place about encountering God and sharing him.

So I want to allow you guys just a time to read the stuff on here go back to the begging to stuff you haven’t read. Anyways just soak up everything you can from God =)

There And Back Again

Well I’m gonna talk about me falling and coming back all within basically a two year time frame. Well like most guys we all face porn. It’s everywhere and our culture says its ok. Well I have struggled with that ever since I was 12. Its tough. I would be strong for a year then fall and come back again. Well finally I have gotten a reign on it. But of course with pornography it does rewire your brain to think of certain things girls do and say will turn you out to basically be a bad guy. You don’t want what’s happening to happen that you see girls in a different way but it does change you.

Now thru God I have finally started to get my life back in line. But before I got back into line I had an even deeper fall. Cause of porn and stuff and changing the way I would think I had problems with falling alot. Well I met a girl{Name is going to be anonymous} and one word led to another and well we started planning to have sex. It probably would have happened but I started to remember in the heat of all of it “I cant do this, God has called me to be a pastor and I have vowed to purity”. Well It ended thankfully without me doing any thing rash that could cause disease or a child conceived not out of love.

But thru all that I managed to still see God as that light at the end of my dark tunnel. Sin is like a mountain, the only way to pass it is to go around it but if you fail to do so your going to keep restarting tell you learn to pass the point that you failed at last. I failed quite a few times and stressed myself out quite about cause of guilt. It was tough. But I finally listened to God thru all the time he was talking to me and actually listened and did what he says.

Now I’m a better man, I’m starting my training to become a youth pastor soon, I’ve been called to the Junior High Campus in my town to connect and reach the kids cause we have no students in Junior High anymore and now I have my blog. A place for me to share God with people, and to share what he is doing in me. When God gives you something you need to be able to pass it on to help others unlock that in their life’s and then God will pour more into you cause you are pouring out, And thats what he has been doing in me ever since I started sharing God. All I can say is if it wasn’t for a loving God I probably would be a guy that is basically sitting at the gate of Hell.

1 Corinthians 14 Study

Ok I hear alot of people use 1 corinthians 14 as a thing to use to tell people they can’t speak in tongues in church and so I did alot of praying and I mean alot of praying and reading up on this chapter and believe God gave me the answer to this for me and hopefully he reveals it to you also thru what he showed me.

1 Corinthians 14:2-4(NCV)

2 I will explain why. Those who have the gift of speaking in different languages[a] are not speaking to people; they are speaking to God. No one understands them; they are speaking secret things through the Spirit.3 But those who prophesy are speaking to people to give them strength, encouragement, and comfort.4 The ones who speak in different languages are helping only themselves, but those who prophesy are helping the whole church.

We speak in tongues to help ourselves, to build ourselves up, but prophesying is to build each-other up.

1 Corinthians 14:11(NCV)

11 But unless I understand the meaning of what someone says to me, we will be like foreigners to each other.

It’s ok to speak in tongues but it does no good to when your ministering to speak in tongues cause its no good to that person. Praying in tongues is for you and to connect and to hear form God. It’s not to minister to someone. In James 3:4-5 it talks about the power of the tongue used for destruction, but it can be used for good also. When your ministering your words have the power to move mountains and I believe thats what Paul is trying to say when he says we shouldn’t speak in tongues in public speaking.

1 Corinthians 14:22(NCV) says at the end if there isn’t an interpreter they should speak only to themselves and God. Earlier in the chapter it talks about how speaking in tongues is good for the spirit but you don’t use your mind when speaking in tongues so you should also pray with words so you and others can understand what is spoken.

1 Corinthians 14:39-40(NCV)

9 So my brothers and sisters, you should truly want to prophesy. But do not stop people from using the gift of speaking in different kinds of languages.40 But let everything be done in a right and orderly way.

Don’t stop people from speaking in tongues there is a time for it.

1 Corinthians 12:4-11(NCV)

4 There are different kinds of gifts, but they are all from the same Spirit.5 There are different ways to serve but the same Lord to serve.6 And there are different ways that God works through people but the same God. God works in all of us in everything we do.7 Something from the Spirit can be seen in each person, for the common good.8 The Spirit gives one person the ability to speak with wisdom, and the same Spirit gives another the ability to speak with knowledge.9 The same Spirit gives faith to one person. And, to another, that one Spirit gives gifts of healing.10 The Spirit gives to another person the power to do miracles, to another the ability to prophesy. And he gives to another the ability to know the difference between good and evil spirits. The Spirit gives one person the ability to speak in different kinds of languages[a] and to another the ability to interpret those languages.11 One Spirit, the same Spirit, does all these things, and the Spirit decides what to give each person.

Everything is given by the spirit. You need to use what gifts God has given you. For some their gift is tongues. They need to be able to sue that gift and we have no right to tell them they cant do so otherwise. If we tell someone they can’t speak in tongues they we shouldn’t prophesy, give revelations or any other gift of the spirit. All the gifts are of one Spirit if we can’t use one we can’t use all and if we did that we would be Spiritually dead. God gave us his Spirit to help us grow, to communicate with him and to give us power. We can’t say not to do one thing of the Spirit but do another.

There is a devotion for Spiritual gifts in my bible in the book of 1 Corinthians and I want to share what it says so you guys can read it also.

Back at the start of his first letter to the Corinthians(1 Cor. 1:4-9), Paul congratulated the church on their rich experience of spiritual gifts, the special abilities that God gives each believer to help people get close to him. The Corinthians had “ever gift form God”(1 Cor. 1:7).
Yet you catch a hint that something was amiss in their exercise of these gifts as you dig further in the book. First Corinthians 12-14 explains how these believers could use their gifts as God intended.
OF all the spiritual gifts listed in the Bible (Rom. 12:3-8; 1 Cor. 12:8-10; Eph. 4:7-13), many gifts sound familiar and ordinary, like teaching, faith, and giving. Others sound more spectacular, like healing, speaking in tongues, and miracles, which many Christians still seek to cultivate today. But each gift takes believers above and beyond their natural talents and abilities. Many are highly sharpened occurrences of traits that all believers are to develop, like wisdom, helps, and mercy.
Though each gift is different, they are all given by the same Holy Spirit. Even though believers engage in a variety of ministries, God is in charge of each. And no matter what God’s people do in building his kingdom, God is the power behind their efforts (1 Cor. 12:4-6).
WHile you might think that spiritual gifts are just for pastors and praying mothers, each believer receives at least one spiritual gift, and each gift has the same point – to benefit all Christians: “SOmething from the Spirit can be seen in each person, for the common good” (1 cor. 12:7). The choice of which spiritual gift or gifts you get isn’t up to you but to God: “One Spirit, does all these things and the spirit decides what to give each person” (1 Cor. 12:11).

Now that’s quite alot to some up and I learned alot thru reading all this. I am glad that alot of prayer went into this first cause God showed me alot and I pray and hope that he shows you thru this what he showed me. Now some stuff in here might be hard for people to understand or they have more questions or want to add something. Well feel free to discuss this in the comments or forums.
